June 20, 2020 Board of Directors Meeting  - Fireworks
At the Saturday L/N Board meeting, a resolution was adopted banning the use of fireworks on Association common grounds and prohibiting the solicitation of funds at any amenity to support private fireworks activities.

Covid-19 Update June 15, 2020:

Lakes of the North Association is happy to announce that the clubhouse will open on Friday, June 26, 2020. We will be opening up for our normal summer hours at the allowed 25% capacity which is 35 swimmers at a time.

Harold Lake and Pencil Lake Beach houses will also open to our members on Saturday, June 27, 2020 for normal summer hours. Watercraft rental will be available, with users assuming all risk and being responsible for wiping down the crafts with Association supplied sanitizer before use.

Covid-19 Update June 8, 2020:

With the Governor's most recent Executive Orders, all businesses in our northern Michigan region may now begin reopening with certain restrictions beginning June 10.  As a result we are looking at ways to reopen the pool (with capacity mandated to be no more than 25% of total bather load), and the beachhouses.

We must develop new operating procedures for handling sanitizing and social distancing requirements, particularly challenging at swimming pool and beach environments.  This will require some time beyond June 10, as well as additional guidance that is yet to be forthcoming from state health department officials.  There is no playbook to follow for this “new normal” but we are working to safely and legally open these amenities to members as soon as possible after June 10 and will continue to provide website and Facebook updates.

The Management Office will continue to operate with restricted “public” hours, as the new Executive Orders still require offices to “suspend all nonessential visitors”.  Practically all services provided at the office are considered nonessential and our current “public” hours on Mondays from 9am to 1pm and Fridays from 1pm to 5pm have proved more than sufficient to provide in person service to the membership, who are  encouraged to call, email or snail mail to conduct necessary business with the office.

Covid-19 Update Tuesday, June 2, 2020:

The Governor's latest actions allow our campground to open effective immediately, and starting June 8th it opens outdoor pools.  We are, however, optimistic that our pool will be allowed to open before the 4th of July.

L/N Members,

It is with deep regret to announce we must join other northern Michigan communities in canceling our fireworks display scheduled for this coming 4th of July.  Also canceled is that evening’s DJ show, the morning parade and kid's games, and the free Concert in the Park on Friday evening, July 3rd.  The July 4th golf scramble will still take place, and Campers Village may be hosting holiday activities if reopened by that time.

Covid-19 Update Thursday May 21, 2020:

In accordance with the Governor's latest Executive Order, Settings Restaurant and Pro Tavern will open at 50% seating capacity on Friday, May 22nd.  All staff will be wearing masks and observing social distancing guidelines and guests are expected to extend the same courtesy to other patrons and staff.  The golf course is open.  The transfer station is open with normal hours.

The Clubhouse and Campers Village remain closed, as are the Lake Harold and Pencil Lake beachhouses.  Watercraft rentals are not available at this time.

The Association Management office will begin offering walk-in hours on a limited basis beginning Friday, May 29th.  We encourage members to continue to call, email or use our new drop box for their needs but understand some items are best taken care of in person.  Please adhere to guidelines posted at the office if you feel the need for in person service for your safety as well as the staff, members and other visitors. Walk-in hours will be Mondays from 9am to 1pm, and Fridays from 1pm to 5pm.  Office staff will continue to work the remainder of the week (on site and remotely).  We encourage you to leave a message or email, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Phone: 231-585-6000

Thank you for your understandingand patience during this time.
